Panic disorder is a particular category of anxiety disorder. Attacks are not triggered by an condition or other aspect.

This predominantly affects women, but there are men that have panic disorder.

People that bear with panic attacks may have a wide variety of symptoms, but there are some symptoms that tend to appear in all victims.

Overcoming Anxiety

There are some situations that are stress inducing. It helps you to remove of the nervous energy, bring more focus, and help you fell better. A good exercise regimen to try is yoga. If an individual is stressed out or has anxiety problems, this can be very beneficial. There are many self-help books available that promote the use of yoga and meditation, to help those with anxiety issues.

Self help books on the topic of anxiety and creating life skills are often beneficial in finding other ways that have worked for those who have deal with that type of problems. Music is always another angle you can take to curbside anxiety. While the music that is chosen will be left up to you, it will help you conquer those feelings of anxiety and stop yourself from starting a panic attack.

Playing an instrument has been an effective way for many people to relax, gain confidence and find an inner peace as well. You do not have to let anxiety control you.

Anxiety Disorder vs. Panic Disorder

Those who suffer from any type of anxiety on a regular basis often struggle to know for sure whether they are suffering from a generalized anxiety disorder or a panic disorder. The physical and mental discomforts suffered with each of these conditions are rather similar, but there are also some very distinct differences that set them apart.

Duration of Anxiety

With a generalized anxiety disorder, the mind is constantly hyper-focused on worry and apprehension. Everything that happens in their life or that may happen in the future will create worrisome thoughts. By general definition, the anxiety in this disorder is constantly present, or almost constantly. What is a Panic Disorder?

Your heart is racing, feeling like it is pounding out of your chest. Your throat feels tight and you are having difficulty breathing. Your stomach rolls with nausea. You find yourself fighting to hold down your lunch. All of this is accompanied by an overwhelming fear. You feel out of control, like death is just around the corner.

This is a panic attack. If you have experienced this, you may be one of the many individuals with panic disorder. Panic disorder is a category of anxiety disorder. Approximately two to three percent of anxiety suffers are affected by this condition. However, up to 30% of patients may experience panic attacks at some point.

Panic disorder is a somewhat misunderstood condition. No one knows exactly why it occurs or what makes some people more susceptible to it. It tends to appear in the teenage years and early adulthood. Statistically, more women are diagnosed with the disorder.

Common Physical Anxiety Symptoms

Are you aware of the fact that you may be suffering from anxiety? Anxiety symptoms are not hard to spot. Although, they can be somewhat difficult to decipher from everyday human emotion and other health problems. Did you know that anxiety symptoms affect more than 40 million adults in the United States alone? Those who are affected by anxiety are also twice as likely to develop depression, which can feed off anxiety and vice versa.

The good news is that if you are suffering from anxiety, you can put an end to it on your own by recognizing some of the most common physical anxiety symptoms. Anxiety can oftentimes make you feel like you are on the edge. General anxiety is different from a panic attack. People who suffer from anxiety are very likely to also suffer from frequent panic attacks as well. The difference with anxiety is that the symptoms are felt the majority of the time and really never seem to ease off.
